Hi - my name is Laura and I am also a Canadian. In addition to my hubby and 17-year old son, I share my heart and home with four greyhounds - Hoss (12.5), My Tai (8), Kirra (5) and Simon(4). We also houndsit a greyhound girl named Lady for two days a week. Mustn't forget to mention the two cats that are also part of our family. Like some of the other members here, our family has pre-adopted an FTH pup - our boy's name is Player and he turns 1 year old next month.

I work full-time for the Canadian federal government and in my evenings, I chair a group that I founded called the Greyhound Supporters of the National Capital Region. Our mandate is to raise funds or otherwise support greyhound-related causes that have been established to improve the health and physical well being of the retired racing greyhound globally, plus raise public awareness of retired racing greyhounds as pets and of the status of greyhounds around the world. In the summer months, I also run a playgroup for local greyhounds.

Aside from spending time with my family and greyhounds, I like to read and garden.
