I found out about this group from a rescuer in my area. I work at an animal shelter that has had a long standing retired racer program. We find placement for about 20-40 greys each year. We have recently had a run of serious medical cost that are threatening our ability to effectively continue with the program. We've had to limit the number of dogs we can take in this year because of it. I currently am foster and probably adopting a 5 year old with DCM (heart failure) which was an expensive diagnosis and the cost sky rocketed from there for 2007.

I'm glad I found this group.

Poor guy sad.gif What does the doctor say about his heart condition? Some conditions can be managed for a very long time. My senior girl has had a grade 6 heart murmur and a grade 3 for over two years. The good thing (according to her cardio vet) is that she is not in heart failure. She is on three heart meds - Norvasc, Pimobendan (Vetmedrin) and Enalapril. Pimobendan is the new wonder heart drug. I wonder if your foster would be a candiate? Sending good thoughts to both of you.
